The Guardia Civil has issued the following advice about robbers.
The modus operandi is as follows: in the parking lot of a supermarket, shopping centre and on occasionally in a car parked on the street, one of the individuals approaches the victim (usually a woman), shows a map of the locality through the window and asks for directions to the nearest pharmacy, health centre, dentist, etc. While the victim is distracted, his accomplice opens the victim’s car door, and takes her handbag.
Usually the victim never sees the second man. The most common time is usually between11:00 and 14: hours.
A good idea is to keep your bag in the boot of the car, or behind the driver’s seat.

Der Modus operandi ist wie gefolgt: auf dem Parkplatz eines Supermarktes, ein Einkaufszentrum und gelegentlich auf jeder Straße. Einer der Personen nähert sich dem Opfer (meist eine Frau) und zeigt eine Karte des Ortes durch dasFenster. Sie fragen nach dem Weg zu einem bestimmten Platz, wie eine Apotheke, Ärzteklinik... Während das Opfer abgelenkt ist, öffnet sein Komplize Autotür des Opfers, und nimmt ihre Handtasche.
Normalerweise sieht das Opfer nie den zweiten Mann. Die häufigste Zeit ist in der Regelzwischen 11:00 und 14: Stunden.
Eine gute Idee ist ihre Handtasche im Kofferraum ihres Autos oder hinterdem Fahrersitz halten.

El modus operandi es el siguiente: en el aparcamiento de un supermercado,
centrocomercial y en alguna ocasión de una calle cualquiera, uno de los individuos de mas edad detiene un vehículo junto a una persona que se disponga a subir al suyo propio (normalmente una mujer), mostrándole un plano de la localidad a través de la ventanilla y pidiéndole indicaciones para llegar a algún punto (una farmacia, centro de salud…). Mientras la persona intenta explicárselo, un segundo individuo que permanecía en las inmediaciones aprovecha que el vehículo de la victima se encuentra abierto y se apodera del bolso.
Normalmente la victima nunca llega a ver al segundo individuo y tampoco se fija
en detalles del vehículo en el que viaja el primero, ya que se percata de lo sucedido
momentos después, cuando los individuos han abandonado el lugar.
La franja horaria suele ser siempre la misma, entre las 11:00 y las 14: horas.
Una buena idea es mantener el bolso en el maletero de su coche, o detrás delasiento del conductor.
